David Benyamine has been a regular at the highest stakes tables on Full Tilt and other big name rooms over the last few years. He has managed to play against the top pros at the highest level on a regular basis, and has continually had great winning sessions that earned him literally millions in winnings. However, over the last year things haven’t been going so well for him, as he encounters one losing session after another.
It has been rumoured the Benyamine has lost a vast amount of his poker winnings and may even be in debt to a few poker pros that he has had to borrow money from. Over the last few months he has had to step down a level in each of his games to try and rebuild his bankroll. Instead of multi-tabling at the highest levels, Benyamine will now single table at the lower stakes to try and recoup some of his losses. Although we call these ‘lower stakes’, they are still far above what most people could ever dream of playing at.
However, things are starting to look good for Benyamine as he managed to have a good number of winning sessions over the last few days. It has been reported that in one day alone he has managed to pick up over 300K at the Pot Limit Omaha tables. This is a great win for him, but it obviously only a small step on his way back to being back to his prime as far as total winnings are concerned. On the other hand, if Benyamine continues to play well and have such good winning sessions, it shouldn’t be too long before he is back to where he once was.
Here is a hand that won Benyamine around 100K at the $200/$400 Pot Limit Omaha tables on Full Tilt:
The action was heads up between David Benyamine and EDEE, DB was on the button with 7c 5c 8c 8s and limped in for an extra $200. EDEE raised it to $1200 with 9s 8h Js Ah, DB called and both players went to the flop. The flop came 6s 8d Qc, giving DB middle set with an open ended straight draw. EDEE bet $2400 on the flop and DB called. The turn came Ks giving EDEE the second nut-flush draw and a one-ended straight draw. EDEE checked and DB bet $3200, EDEE check-raised it to $16,800 and then DB came over the top and pushed all-in for just over $60,000. EDEE called for the remainder of his stack creating a total pot size of $100,792. EDEE needed a Ten or a spade that didn’t pair the board to win the hand. Fortunately for DB the river came the Qd giving him a full house to take down the huge 6-figure pot.
