One of the most innovative new card games Holdem Blackjack is still having trouble increasing its popularity amongst card players. The game, which cleverly combines the games of Holdem Poker and Blackjack, has had little success since its conception despite the fact it combines two of the most commonly played card games on the planet.

It was thought that such an ingenious game would attract large volumes of players, and give them a welcome break from the usual poker variants of Omaha, Stud and Holdem. However, this has simply not been the case since the game’s conception as it continues to struggle to attract players to the HBJ tables.

The Cryptologic sites such as Sun Poker offer the Holdem Blackjack tables to its players, which can be found in the top right hand corner tab of the main lobby window. But clicking on this tab at this current time will only bring you a list of about 15 empty tables of varying limits, waiting for a wave of players to grace their dusty seats.

The game involves being dealt one card in the first betting round, and then another card on the next round. There are betting rounds continue throughout until the last round where players can hit or stick to make 21. The player with 21 or closest to it will win the pot, so in this game you are playing against other players and not the house. Therefore it is actually possible to make money from HBJ like you can in other poker games.

The main problem with HBJ is that the creators or the poker rooms hosting them have not heavily promoted it. I am fairly sure that 80% of the people reading this article have never even heard of the game up to this point, and to be honest with you I only heard of the game a few weeks ago myself. With such a new game, it really needs a bit of time in the limelight to get its name out there and make players aware of such a unique and innovative game that is now available to them.

The majority of players on the Cryptologic network will probably overlook the small HBJ tab in the lobby window and continue with their own game of choice. Any players that actually click on these tabs will notice that there is little or no action whatsoever, so they will not waste their time waiting to find out what is on offer hoping for another player to sit down with them.

I believe that such a unique game does deserve a little attention, as it would be a shame to let something so intuitive die out so soon. So next time you are playing at Sun Poker or another similar room on the network, take a look at HBJ tables and give them a try out. It will be a welcome break from Holdem, and you may find it more enjoyable than you think. Plus, seeing as it’s such a new game, everyone is a fish!
