The Microgaming network is one of the largest in the industry, and it has recently had its lobby updated to help keep the room in the top tier when it comes to software. Rooms on the Microgaming network are known for having very standard software graphics, which can deter players from staying at the room if they are looking for busy and active graphics to keep them entertained. However, this recent update should do well in helping to keep more players at the room with a more advanced lobby.

Veterans on the Microgaming tables may remember the old layout that was used for the lobby. There was a standard tree-structured sorting system for the tables, which allowed you to sort between the different games and limits that were available. These tables would then be displayed in the main central window, highlighting key information such as the average number of players per flop along with the average pot size. There would then be a horizontal bar of buttons across the bottom, with the room’s individual logo across the top.

The new lobby style structure-wise isn’t too much more different than the structure of old. The only difference being that the large logo for each room at the top is no longer there, as the banners have now been condensed and moved into the bottom-right hand corner. This allows for a greater number of tables to be displayed in the main window without the need to scroll.

The biggest difference that you will notice when you load up the lobby for the first time is the overall sleeker graphics used throughout. There are new larger buttons across the bottom of the screen with small icons to accompany the text. One of these buttons allows you to change the lobby, so that you are able to choose between 3 different layouts. These different styles are useful for the pros and beginners, as one of the styles is more suited towards a novice, whereas the other is suited toward to experienced player.

Overall I feel that the new design is certainly an improvement on the old, as it looks better and proves to be of a much greater utility. The fact that you can see your total bankroll balance in the lobby screen is a small but incredibly useful new feature, as you no longer have to click onto the bank button and wait before finding out how much you have left in your account. The new lobby should help in attracting more players to the room, and hopefully it wont be too long before the tables get a redesign!
