Anthony Sandstrom, also known as ‘Tuff Fish’, will be petitioning to try and obtain 430,000 names within 4 months to try and have online poker legalized in California. The online poker would be state-run, so any players wishing to play poker online for money would be able to do so without any fears of making illegal transactions.
‘Tuff Fish’ has become well known amongst a number of poker communities for his hilarious videos that depict countless bad beats and suck outs that have Anthony writhing in frustration. Anthony is a decent player that usually plays at the $2/$4 no limit Texas Holdem games, but there are a number of holes in his game that leave him open to such frequent ‘bad beats’. The videos prove to be of great entertainment to the viewer, as you are able to hear Anthony’s amusing reactions to each of the hands that he loses.
On July 27th, Anthony was given the right to circulate his petition in order to obtain 430,000 names within three months so that there can be an online gaming agency in California. However, not everyone within the state of California is happy about this petition. The card rooms for example would prefer that all poker players came to their doors to feed their poker needs, rather than have them stay at home and gamble at the online poker sites. In spite of this there are still a large number of Californian citizens that would be more than happy to be able to play poker online once again, so there is a possibility that Anthony will be able to get his hands on $430,000 names within this 4 month period.
This is actually the second time that Anthony has attempted to pave the way for state-run online gambling in California, but the former petition was withdrawn in April of this year as it had little success. However, Anthony is confident that this petition will be stronger, and that in a few months time he will be able to sit back down at his computer and start hitting the bad beats and cold decks online once again.
If you haven’t seen any of Anthony’s videos, just head over to Youtube and type in ‘Tuff Fish’, where you will find a number of his most popular videos. It would be great to be able to see a new set of his videos in the near future, but for the time being it looks like we are going to have to settle for the classics.
