Watch out WSOP, you’ve got some competition. The Venetian Hotel and Casino recently announced their plans to hold their second annual poker series titled Deep Stack Extravganza, which “coincidentely” runs from June 1st - July 1st roughly along the same timetable of the WSOP.
The month long series includes a variety of tournaments ranging from the $330 to $1,060 Buy-in level, which makes it a nice alternative to WSOP events which tend to have much higher Buy-ins and tournament fees. Exact tournament structures and game varieties of the tournaments have yet to be disclosed, but this tournament should attract lots of players who are in Vegas for the WSOP buzz but looking for a lower range of Buy-in tournaments.
The Venetian’s poker room is 10,500 square feet and can accomodate 29 tables, so it is most likely that the majority of the events will be held in the normal poker room. Better yet, it is also an all-suites hotel with some balling rooms so it would definetely be a great place to play and stay.
Stayed tuned for more details on the Venetian tournament and other poker tournaments worldwide as they come across the wire. For more information on the Venetian poker room or the hotel, you may visit their website here.
